National Organization For Women Endorses Steve Cohen For Congress
The National Organization For Women, the largest feminist organization in the United States, has issued its endorsement of Steve Cohen for Re-Election to the House of Representatives.
“We are pleased to inform you that because of your strong commitment to feminist issues, the National Organization for Women Political Action Committee has re-endorsed your candidacy for election to the United States House of Representatives. NOW/PAC is proud to re-endorse those incumbents who have been leaders in the struggle to acieve full equality for women,” said the statement issued by Kim Gandy, Chair.
“Tennessee NOW is definitely in your corner— We look for you to be a leader for women!” said a handwritten note.
“I’m a cosponsor of the Equal Rights Amendment in the House,” Congressman Cohen said. “It has always been my goal that the daughters of tomorrow grow up in a nation that values their contributions to society and gives them equal pay for equal work, and that’s why I’ve cosponsored the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
NOW has over 500,000 members in 550 chapters across the United States.

AFSCME Endorses Steve Cohen For Congress
The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees has issued an endorsement of Congressman Steve Cohen for re-election to Tennessee’s 9th District Congressional seat.
“On behalf of the Political Action Committee of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, (AFSCME) Local 1733, we have consensus to support your candidacy,” said the statement released by Local 1733 President Percy Banks.
AFSCME is one of the largest and fastest growing labor unions in the United States, serving over 1.4 million government employees.

Shelby County Deputy Sheriffs' Association Endorses Steve Cohen For Congress
The Shelby County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association has endorsed Congressman Steve Cohen for re-election to the House of Representatives.
“This endorsement reflects the esteem in which our members hold you. We believe that you will continue to serve the citizens of Shelby County and the State of Tennessee, and that you will discharge the duties of your office in a fair and professional manner,” said the press release issued by President L. Dan Chapman.
“I hope the members of the Shelby County Sheriffs’ Association knows the esteem in which I hold them,” Congressman Cohen said. “I thank them for the service they perform for this community and for their faith in me.
Memphis Police Association Endorses Steve Cohen for Re-Election to Congress
The Memphis Police Association has announced its endorsement of Congressman Steve Cohen for re-election to Tennessee’s 9th District Congressional seat.
“By the unanimous vote of our committee,” said Memphis Police Association President J.D. Sewell, “the Memphis Police Association wholeheartedly endorses Steve Cohen for re-election.”
The Memphis Police Association was founded “to give the City of Memphis superior police protection, to maintain the high integrity of the police force, to maintain, promote and encourage professionalism on the behalf of the members of the Memphis Police Department”.
“I started my career representing the police,” Congressman Cohen said. “And I’m truly honored to have earned the endorsement of Memphis’s finest.”
Memphis Education Association Endorses Steve Cohen for Congress
Based on the recommendation of the Tennessee Education Association and its local members in the Memphis Education Association, the National Education Association Fund for Children & Public Education has endorsed Steve Cohen for re-election to the House of Representatives.
“The Tennessee Education Association which recommended your candidacy – And the NEA Fund applaud your commitment to public education and children,” read the press release issued by NEA Chairperson Reg Park. “The NEA Fund will recommend your candidacy to the NEA members residing in your Congressional District and will urge them to play a leadership role in helping you to achieve victory. The NEA Fund and TEA are proud to support the election of federal candidates, like you, who measure up on the issues that most concern our members.”
“Education is the cornerstone of a healthy economy,” Congressman Cohen said. “That’s why I devoted twenty years of my life to fighting for the Hope Lottery that has paid for the college education of thousands of youths across this state.”
The National Education Association is the largest labor union in the United States, representing over 3.2 million educators and school & university staff across the United States.
