Congressman Steve Cohen will receive the D. Emelio Castelar Work Recognition Award in Madrid, Spain in honor of his work on H. Res 194, his bill calling upon the House of Representatives to formally apologize for the enslavement and segregation of African-Americans.
Cohen will serve as a keynote speaker for the Vida Foundation’s international symposium on the abolition of slavery and the slave trade.
The Vida Foundation is a non-governmental organization that promotes environmental protection and human rights.
