Congressman Steve Cohen Receives 100% on Humane Society Legislative Fund’s Humane Score Card

The Humane Society Legislative Fund has issued its scorecard for the 2010 session of the United States Congress, and Congressman Steve Cohen’s voting record earned him his fourth consecutive 100% score.

Members of the House of Representatives were scored based on their votes on several key pieces of legislation including:

  • H.R. 5566, which bans the interstate and foreign commerce of videos showing small animals being crushed to death
  • H.R. 3885, which establishes a Veterans Administration program to allow veterans with health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to train service dogs for use by disabled veterans
  • H.R. 5434, which closed a loophole in the Animal Welfare Act that allowed lare dog breeding facilities to go unregulated

Congressman Cohen also received perfect scores for the 2007, 2008, and 2009 sessions and won the “Humane Champion” award in 2008. The Humane Society Legislative Fund also endorsed Cohen for re-election in 2010.
