Congressman Steve Cohen’s voting record in the United States Congress earned him his second consecutive “A” from the Sargent Shriver Poverty Center on their 2010 Scorecard.
The Scorecard is calculated by examining how members of Congress voted on several key issues, including:
- H.R. 3590 – The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
- H.R. 4213 – The Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2010
- H.R. 2847 – Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment

The Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, named for the recently deceased Sargent Shriver, provides national leadership in identifying, developing, and supporting creative and collaborative approaches to achieve social and economic justice for low-income people and communities.
Cohen also scored an “A” on the Sargent Shriver Poverty Law Center 2008 Scorecard.
