The National Association of Social Workers Political Action for Candidate Election has endorsed Congressman Steve Cohen for re-election in Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District.

“In order to advance our legislative priorities on behalf of social workers and the communities we serve, we are eager to work with you on critical issues,” said Lawrence C. Betcher, Chairman of the NASW-PACE Trustees. “These include protection for vulnerable members of society, including many children and senior citizens, an expanded focus on mental health issues, and the recruitment and retention of more social workers to address society’s needs.”

The National Association of Social Workers, with its over 145,000 members, is the largest membership association of professional social workers in the world.

NASW gave Congressman Cohen the “Public Official of the Year” Award in March 2012 and endorsed Cohen for re-election in 2010,
