First Focus Campaign for Children, a bipartisan children’s advocacy organization, has named Congressman Steve Cohen a Defender of Children in the 113th Congress. This award is part of First Focus’s campaign to recognize the top 100 Members of Congress who advocate on behalf of children in policy and budget decisions.

The Campaign for Children’s top federal priority areas include child poverty, child nutrition, child health, early childhood and education, child housing needs, the Child Tax Credit, the Earned Income Tax Credit, protecting the rights of immigrant children, and addressing child abuse and neglect.

“We look forward to working in partnership with you to identify leadership opportunities in the 113th Congress,” First Focus President Bruce Lesley wrote in a congratulatory letter to Congressman Cohen.
