COHEN FOR CONGRESS CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS NOW OPEN
Congressman Steve Cohen's re-election campaign office is now open for business at 1803 Union Avenue in Midtown Memphis, the same location occupied by his successful 2006 campaign to win Tennessee's 9th Congressional District seat.
"This is a great location for us," said Congressman Steve Cohen. "It's a central location in the heart of the city that is familiar to all who supported me two years ago. We're looking forward to working with them again so that I can keep fighting for Memphis in Congress. We've got a good team together, and we're going to run a good race this year."
Campaign manager Jerry Austin is a political consultant who has worked for candidates in the U.S. and abroad. In 1988, he was Reverend Jesse Jackson's National Campaign Manager. In 1990, he helped elect Paul Wellstone to the U.S. Senate in 1992; He was the senior consultant when Carol Moseley Braun became the first African-American female to be elected to the U.S. Senate. Recently, Mr. Austin worked in Hungary helping the incumbent Prime Minister retain his majority in the Parliament.

Travis is a former United States Marine. He is currently a student at the University of Memphis, and has previously worked on two political campaigns. - Crystal Johnson, Scheduler
Crystal is currently attending the University of Memphis, where she is Vice President of the University of Memphis NAACP. - John Marek, Field Director
John received a degree in Political Science from the University of Memphis and is currently attending law school at the U of M. He rebuilt the University of Memphis College Democrats, serving as its president until 2007. He interned for Congressman Cohen in the Tennessee State Senate and worked as an Staff Assistant in Cohen's 2006 congressional campaign. - Rick Maynard, Communications Director
Rick attended the University of New Orleans and has worked on several political campaigns throughout the years. - Dabney Roberts, Finance Director
A former co-president of the University of Memphis Young Democrats, Dabney has been a part of every Cohen campaign since first volunteering for him in 1992, managing Cohen for Senate in 1996. She is reprising her role as Finance Director from the 2006 Cohen for Congress campaign. - Brice Timmons, Fundraising Director
Brice is a former member of the United States Army who served in Kosovo and a graduate of the University of Memphis Political Science Department. He is currently attending law school at the University of Memphis. In 2006, he was the Lead Intern on the Cohen for Congress campaign before managing Memphis City Councilman Bill Morrison's congressional campaign against Marsha Blackburn.
Congressman Steve Cohen served on the Shelby County Commission from 1978-80, where he cast a key vote in creating The Med. He represented District 30 in the Tennessee State Senate fro 1982-2006, where among his many achievements, he created the Tennessee State Lottery which has helped thousands of students across Tennessee fulfill their dreams of a college education. Since being sworn in to the House of Representatives in January 2007, he has established a reputation as a fighter willing to take on the Bush Administration.
